Hi!  I’m Karla, the photographer and owner of Brittany Avenue Photography.  I’m married and have two boys that are teenagers (!). I’ve been photographing newborns and young families for over 10 years, ever since my youngest was a baby!  

My experience as both a mom and photographer has taught me some important things to help me provide a stress free, luxury experience for my clients.  It all starts before your session where we’ll work together to plan your family’s wardrobe.  Outfits can make or break your portraits!  We’ll work together to create a vision for your session and style your family.  

Hair and make up isn’t required, but I do recommend professional hair and make up for your session and I work with a wonderful hair and make up artist that can come to the studio to get you camera ready!

Before your session, I’ll send over some tips to help make sure your session runs smoothly.  I know there are so many different things moms worry about when it comes to photo sessions– What if my baby cries the entire time?  What if my toddler doesn’t want to cooperate?  My husband hates taking pictures– How do I get him to relax and enjoy the session?  These are just a few things I’ve experienced with my clients over the years.  I’ve found that the more moms are prepared, the less stressed they are, which in turn leads to their family not being stressed out… So when everyone shows up for their session, you just have to be ready to enjoy this time with your family while I take care of the rest!
