Planning The Perfect Houston Baby Shower
If you’re looking for ideas to plan a Houston baby shower, this blog post will share a few tips to help you get started! There are so many things to consider when planning a baby shower, from the venue to the theme of the shower.
Choosing the Right Venue
One of the first and most important decisions you’ll make is choosing the venue. Things to consider when choosing a venue are:
- The size of the guest list- Do you need a large space or would a smaller, cozier space be a better option?
- The ambiance and style of the venue- Does it align with the mom-to-be’s style and the overall theme of the shower?
- Location- Choose a venue that is convenient for most of the guests
Two of my favorite spots in Houston for a baby shower are Ouisie’s Table and Tiny Boxwoods.
Decide on a Theme and Decor
Another important part of planning a Houston baby shower is deciding on the theme and decor.
When choosing a theme, consider the mom-to-be’s preferences. You might consider using the colors or theme of the nursery as the theme of the shower.
Once you’ve decided on a theme, you can start planning the decorations. Centerpieces can be as simple as floral arrangements from Trader Joe’s. Balloon arches are also very popular right now. They can either be DIY using a kit from a party supply store or Amazon, or there are several local businesses that can create an elaborate balloon arch for the occasion. Using a mix of store-bought and DIY decorations can add a personal touch and save on costs.
Also, don’t forget about the little details, such as table settings, party favors, and signage. One of my favorite baby shower favors that’s easy and inexpensive is individually packaged sugar cookies for each guest to take home. My favorite place to buy sugar cookies in the Houston area is Memorial Bakery. Their sugar cookies are the best! Be sure to check out Etsy for templates you can purchase for invitations, a poster/ sign and other decor.
