Expecting a baby soon? A maternity session is such a beautiful way to document this special time. Don’t worry about what you’re going to wear… We’ve got you covered! We have beautiful dresses in all sizes to choose from in the client wardrobe. This mom chose three of our dresses for her session. Doesn’t she look beautiful?!?

We also like to make things easy for our clients, so we have a preferred hair and make up artist that we recommend for all of our clients. Getting your hair and make up professionally done for your session isn’t required, but I highly recommend it, so you’ll look and feel your best for your photo session.

Here are a few frequently asked questions that clients ask us about maternity sessions:

When should I book my maternity session?

We recommend that mom’s do their maternity session when they’re around 28-32 weeks. We’ve found that this is a good time when mom’s baby bump is well defined, but you’re not at that uncomfortable stage yet. Of course, if you’ve already past that stage, don’t let that stop you from booking! Be sure to reach out to us to inquire about availability.

Where does the maternity session take place?

Maternity sessions take place either outdoors at sunset or at our natural light studio located just west of Houston.

What should I wear for my maternity session?

You’re welcome to choose a dress from our client wardrobe. We also provide our clients with a Wardrobe Style Guide that gives ideas of what to wear, including links to items that can be purchased online. A maxi dress is a great option. If you’d like to do some bare belly photos, then a crop top with your prepregnancy jeans (unbuttoned) is also a great idea.

How do I book a maternity session?

The session fee is paid at booking to book your session, and then you can choose which collection you’d like to purchase when you view your gallery (around 2-3 weeks after your session). I do offer a discounted session fee for clients that sign up for both a maternity + newborn session, or Baby’s First Year Plan. Family Scheduling update: I’m currently scheduling milestone and family sessions through August 2023. I only have a few spots remaining for outdoor sessions through May. Studio sessions may be booked through August. Outdoor sessions may be booked through May and then will resume in September- Outdoor sessions are not scheduled during the summer due to the Houston heat and humidity.

Newborn Session Scheduling update: I’m currently booking newborn sessions through October 2023. My schedule fills up quickly, so please contact me soon if you’re considering a newborn session. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have and send a sample gallery over to give you an idea of what to expect for a session.

Maternity and milestone sunset sessions are offered at an outdoor location in the Houston area.  Outdoor sessions take place an hour before sunset.
